The Whitstable Improvement Trust and the Whitstable Community Museum & Gallery are bringing back their popular photographic competition for 2015. Open to all people (aged eleven or older) who live, learn, work or grew up in postal area CT5, the competition is leading a search for the accompanying artwork to the popular Whitstable calendar. If you are a new recruit to the shores of Whitstable, or a long ago resident, then this is the competition for you!
The calendar is sold throughout the year from the start of the renowned Oyster Festival through to Christmas, from a range of local outlets. This is a fantastic opportunity for both amateur and professional photographers alike, who can capture the spirit of one of our most picturesque Kentish seaside towns.
The competition builds on then fantastic response from previous years, and for the first time is a collaboration between the Trust and Whitstable’s Community Museum & Gallery.
Brian Hitcham, Chair of the WCM & G, said “We are delighted to join with the WIT in this project. It is a welcome sign of support from the WIT for the community-run museum. I hope Whitstable’s many talented photographers will want to help promote the town and its rich heritage and will give the competition their best shots“.
Photos must be unpublished in any other form, and around the theme of Whitstable – The One and Only. To express your interest please email firstname.lastname@example.org and request ‘2016 Calendar Guidelines’ prior to the submission of your photographs.
This competition closes on 12 June 2015.
